Pygmy Goats

We have a mixed breed flock here on our croft including Hebrideans, Zwarbtles, Jacobs, Lleyns, Cheviots, Mules , Blackface cross.

Meet our 3 Pygmy goats Rocky Ginger and Jeff (our original goats)are now joined by Paddy(Pygmy) and Ruby(Nubian)

Our poultry includes hens, ducks , guinea fowl, turkeys and a Peahen. Eggs normally available in our honest box at Hacklet junction

We got these two as Piglets in Jan 2022 and they are super friendly and adorable. Unfortunately they are no longer at the croft

In Our Fields

At Grimsay Isles Flock we have about 30 to 40 sheep. Most of the flock are crossbreeds with a Lleyn tup. 2020/21 was Romeo and 2022 was Ronaldo. For 2023 and 2024 tupping time we were back to a cheviot whom we named Rocky. In 2024 we bought a young blackface tup called Haze.

We have 2 pedigree hebrideans, 2 jacobs, 3 Zwartbles and a mule. The rest of the flock are a mixture of cross breeds

We have two Shetland ponies Holly and Florance who are full sisters. They were both breed in North Uist are have typical Shetland manners

Then we have our old boy Oliver

Ollie has must be around 20 years old, and is a Welsh Section A, we have owned him for over 15 years and he was loaned to our local Riding school from 2016 to 2021.
